Losing weight is something that most people desire to do at some point in their lives. What holds most of these people back is that they think it will take a long time for this to happen and that it takes a great deal of effort. The truth is that there are a few basic things that can be done that can to lose weight in a week.





Step 1 – No Carbohydrates!

The first thing that can be done is the person wanting to drop a few pounds can eliminate excess carbohydrates from their diet. This means that foods like bread and pasta are no longer eaten. For those wanting to lose weight within a week this is the usually best and most widely effective method available. Eliminating carbohydrates may seem difficult but once a person gets in the habit of doing it things become much easier.




Step 2 – No flavored beverages!

Many of the calories that people consume on a daily basis come in the form of liquids. Liquids that contain calories are unnecessary. Substantial weight loss can be seen quite quickly if they are cut out of a person’s diet over the duration of a week. Soft drinks and other flavored beverages that contain sugar should be replaced with water. Water contains no calories and also works to naturally boost the metabolism of those who drink it regularly.




Step 3 – Exercises!

Along with eliminating carbohydrates and sugary drinks, simple exercises can be done to improve results even further. You can certanly lose weight in a week by only changing a person’s diet but exercise can ramp up the results even more. These exercises do not need to be overly strenuous and could consist of something as simple as taking a 20-30 minute walk each day. Simple body weight exercises such as push-ups, pull-ups and squats can be done by those who want to break a little bit more of a sweat and lose even more weight. Even the simplest exercises can raise a person’s metabolism enough to help them burn fat for many hours after a workout is completed. This happens because their resting metabolic rate is heightened allowing calories to be burned even when they are not moving.

 

How much weight can you lose in a week?

The amount of weight that can be lost during a week while doing these things will vary from person to person. With that being said, it is reasonable to expect that the average person can lose about 10 pounds in a week or possibly even more. Eliminating excess carbohydrates, drinking only water and doing simple body weight exercises are a few great ways to to lose weight in a week.
